It Was A Good Number 10

Good morning ya'all. I woke up early in the day today just to show love to my blog. It's been far too long coming and I've been mean no to update stuff. Thanks to all your replies via facebook and myspace, I've been making ya'all hang in there for yet another intriguing post here.

Over these months, my life has taken another route of being busy. I know I shouldn't be complaining much. Apart from that everything else in 2010 was sweet, matter of fact I did not realize time has passed in a glimpse. This means I have my last year here in Bandung, Indonesia before I head back for good to Malaysia. I've been slackin to complete projects these few months because I was caught with work. Surgery was good physical challenge put to test for a rapper like me. I hardly had weekends to appear in front of ya'all, what else on Ladies Nights.

Good news is, I've been subtle taking learning curves in the field of self inspired music production. By mentioning the word self here, I'm not brushing of my camaraderie who has tipped me loads of insightful inputs. I got myself a new laptop - a music machine that has improved my touch of creativity. Ampliflying this, is the fact that I've been picking up Propellerheads's Reason software and Ableton's Live. It's a huge transition music wise for a sample based producer like me to conceptualize and improve my workmanship. Still a disciple for the discipline, I am working on mind deliverance of my music. Korg Nanopad has been my best buy so far as I've always dreamed to have a MPC 3000. Big dreams to be fulfilled one day from now, lets give it up for Korg for now.

Lyrical wise, I've been writing quite as much, but I've had trouble allocating studio time. I wish upon a Black Star that 2011 would write me off a path of spitting freedom. In a nutshell, I have beats to work on with my vocal alibi, I have dream tracks to work on with professionals and I'm hungry to spit freestyles at your shows or them aftermath.

So yeah, 2010 has been beautiful just as them ladies who has been making warm inside all year long. Hip Hop this year didn't bore my ear drums both locally (Indo and Malaysia) and at them international stage. I am looking forward for 2011. Loads of Electronic, Dub Step and Experimental stiff would be assimilated to my mother love of hip hop and rap. Whatever ya'all have done with an inspiration in 2010, move it on a gradual course in 2011. Let's pen history together.

Ohh yeah, before i forget this, advanced Happy New Year wishes tonight. Let me know how are ya'all partying tonight, we should catch up. Cheers for loads of beers

I was never gone, I was away on leave (A.W.O.L), I'm back - so turn it on.

Cheers for loads of beers.

Bangkit Album - Out Tomorrow

Waddup petite shawties and handsome lads, greetings to ya'all. Sometime back ago, I was promoting Kota Tinggi Troops (KTT) for their run for the Bangkit compilation. The results were savvy as ya'all helped thme top the poll. Bangkit then remastered the track after feudal comments by the judges during post poll sessions to almost all tracks. Whatever it is, the independent music spirit surpassed this monologue events since Bangkit Album would be officially released tomorrow.

DJ Scratchy - Live Dubstep Mix

Morning people.. If ya'all are chilling at your sweet escape just like ya bwoy's doing, then ya'll should take some note. Indonesia's finest turntablist DJ Scratchy hooked me up with breakfast for my mind with a free dubstep mix.

Ya'll know, most stuff on my blog would be free and promotional, and yessur we only portray them stress relievers. Mathematically, by taking some of ya time, im reducing (potential)crime rates and such (kidding!)

I've known Agung a.k.a DJ Scratchy for quite sometime. Other than just being my producer who mixd and mastered my tracks on my numero uno studio mixtape Fresh Tapes, this person has always been musically an idol to me. A short biography bout this due wouldn't hurt as much. This personnel is few of those pioneer turntablist hip hop outfits who were performing scratches in them city streets of Bandung back in the days. He also took music production on a serious level beyond hip hop since he produced and engineered loads of art pieces to loads of fellow musicians across Indonesia. Ya'all want names? Dewi Sandra or Sandra Dewi (ask either one, i forgot).

Back to the story, this cat since than has been renowned or his skills on the turntable and authentic mixes at parties not mentioning producing skills. Few years back, lets say 2 years back - he developed a much improper way of saying lust towards drum n bass/ dub step/ electro-ish mixes. Ive been witnessing loads of DNB mixes to them average hip hop tracks. I'm those hooked fans who has been sharing loads of exclusive mixes with the personnel. Recently, Cronik Labs Studio, which is the home-ground for the Bandung underground hip hop camaraderie progressed to a better environment of studio upgrade. It has since been relocated and known as Trackbaze Studios to the Bandung local scene. This is the 1st essential product of them studio although it is rumored that Cronik would be recording their visuals soon for their footage.

Till Then if ya'all dig dub step and I recognized some glitch and grime in the midst of this mix.. feel free to download, hook up with ya favorite DJ, get some words about the mix and drop ya comments. Don't forget the 'Like' button.since you wouldn't get a 50 minute free mix like ya'll attended them private DNB parties ya'all got bassed out.

This is the 1st DNB/Dub Step/Glitch/Grime mix coming at ya'all straight from Bandung. Although over the years I've been hearing loads of live mixes from loads of them local DJs and DNB outfits - never have came across any recorded/internet friendly ear candies. Time to do some research

This mix starts with a lady asking me to 'show her..blabla'. Lolz.

Story of a Rap Gladiator

What's them restful weekend for sizzle like people?. What brings me to this post is my man Dafrosty. Yes u heard me, Mr.Frost is back with his mixtape ready to be bootlegged to your local drives and them jogging apparels. Apparently, I've been hooked with this mixtape ever since i downloaded it. These are few(maybe loads) reasons:

1. The mixtape is free
2. The bitrate is 320 kbps
3. This mixtape has 15 tracks including its skits
4. This is exclusively been produced, mixed and mastered by Dafrosty, whilst some tracks are produced by Sazz The Villain, Shazet and Dafrosty himself.
5. The mixtape has shitload of samples to make ya'all ponder and such,
6. The artists inclined/listed on them mixtape murdered their slots
7. The deliverance of the host would immaculately flip and toss emcees apart as a reference for them career!
8. There are lyrics embedded in all of them tracks!!!
9. It has Magneto's helmet as its mixtape cover
10. This is strictly UNDERGROUND
*Feel free to hook me up with more reasons if ya'all got em'.

This mixtape psychedelically 'shroomed' me from the moment I hit them play on my media player. Imagine, having a mash of Brother Ali, Final OutlaW, Sabac and Mr. Lif ripping tonsils on them Madlib, El-P beats. Dafrosty lifted the Malaysian rap arena to another level with his spells on beats and rhymes. Well this cat key-styles a lot and these are few key-stylers who sounds better spitting.

My money for the mixtape would be Fire Works the immediate track after the strong intro sampled from Malcolm X. For split a second, I rechecked my playlist to screen for Vinnie Paz. The soothing piano and high frequency cut drums at the intro speaks loads of stories to your average beat makers. Sazz The Villain layered an air ball which Mr.Frost slam dunked with style.

Rap Gladiator was the next to initiate the action potential in my ear hair cells. This track was heavily experimental and it's the 1st I've heard of his such from a Malaysian producer/emcee. I should say it's bold and reached it's whereabouts.

Salvation is surely the next skate boarder's anthem even though this sounded handsomely grungy. Lina Halim engineered a 3 syllable tune and spoke nothing more. Again, Dafrosty took me by surprise with the rhymes. This is a cover from Cranberries which I'm honestly not familiar since I've never heard them girls. Maybe i should in the future, now look how hip hop cross promotes other genres! (bragging rights!)

The Rap Gladiator Mixtape by Dafrosty

Overall I'm rating this album a 7 out of 10 stars. This is the best local business I've heard all year long. Dafrosty is your next existent rapper you would say "I knew him" as the kid continuously executes mid-day mutiny on rap. I would love to see him maintain and sharpen his current style. At them mean time, keep a lookout for his unique deliverance, signature beats and deep rhyme not an average emcee would do. This mixtape is a MUST HAVE for all no matter ya'all are digging rap or hip-pop!

High Notes from a Lowkey

Happy 53rd Independence day Malaysia. The numbers really would ambiguously differ in meaning for the masses. I wouldn't bullshit saying I'm much of the patriotic nor nationalistic younGns. On paper, we are 53 years independent off the United Kingdom, and I really am glad full since I've been given all the basic necessities from my nation - enough if not all.

Getting back on the UK, I've been constantly writing on their hip hop scene. Some has been dropping mails and such asking why is the local Malaysian, Indonesian and New York cover ups been less and such. At the moment I'd love to say that I'm seconding if not introducing some new school instrumentals with old school rhymes from all over the world. Local boys gotta wait, I'mma step them game up sooner or later..

I recently heard this rapper from the UK, and this lad was featured in a mixtape entitled Concealed Weapons II hosted by The League Of Extraordinary Gz. This Iraqi blooded rapper is named Lowkey. I sat down and watched a couple of video's of him on Youtube and up to my surprise, the rhymes were properly arranged to be verbally "kill my Valentine". I did some research on his personal website and found that, this guy is an activist and much would some argue that he has them anti-American sentinels jotted down by various sites about his music. I'd refute to that since being a frontier, upholding your beliefs, segregating war bullshits and questioning power would not make Lowkey for instance a laggard. This cat has shifted from sounding American earlier in his mixtapes to the thick UK accent (I cant hardly get em!).

Gentlemen, I'd would like to second this video not as a part of mocking Obama's administration, nor would I tally to the conventional UK Hip Hop versus NYC shiznit. I'm doing this for the Palestinian's and them freedom fighters, them emcees who would wanna have something to relate to, to those rap critics who has meticulously penned wrong inks about the current quality of rhyme schemes. Breaching To Write

All right good-fellaz, I thank ya'all for all your mails and Facebook messages this past few weeks. I know Ramadhan has started, thanks as well for the fasting wishes. I don't fast though, I adore those who do so. A lot of you cats has been asking me what's new music wise, when would my mixtape be dropping in Indonesia and such. I'd just wanna say it's been on put for quite sometime right now, your boy has been doing loads of street shows by the weekends but I'm yet to find the time to promote my mixtape. That's a real harsh pain in the gluteus right now!

My productions on the other hand has been put to good use. Kota Tinggi Troops topped the Gempak Charts and they have been given some sort of contract to re-record the song. My man Cue Dubz from South Africa has produced his video of the street banger "There's A Plan". Back in Bandung, Modern Rap Rubbish are working on a underground joint as well as Ruffneck and Missy Allen's unreleased singles.

In short, I have confirmed pending stuffs to ponder upon this next few months:
1) Kota Tinggi Troops - Warisan Perjuangan(produced by MC Nucleo)
2) Cue Dubz - There's A Plan (produced by MC Nucleo)
3) Modern Rap Rubbish - Self Titled (produced by MC Nucleo)
4) Missy Allen feat MC Nucleo - Self Titled (produced by MC Nucleo)
5) Eastside 21 feat MC Nucleo - Everlasting (produced by DJ Dizz)
6) One Blood - Ganyang Pembodohan Media (produced by MC Nucleo)

At the same time, I'm feeling gloomy with work nowadays. I'm not ventilating and such, but yeah its BLUE-ish.

I'm in need to write, hence I was in search for some good lyrics to challenge my Broca's area today.. I came across Final Outlaw's single called Breach The Surface. This is the best shit I heard this month for real. There are just too many good quotes to make you underground cats clap(trust me).

If you happen to purchase music on i-Tunes, stop B-O-B-ing and do this for real. I just got mine, its worth every penny and I'm not sharing. This would for real help me in months to come. Do hear them song and stay young as they claimed We're all Gonna Die..

Get KRUMP

Wuddz Krump ya'al!

A few days ago, i got the chance to watch National Geographic Channels International- "Taiwan to the World" 3 involving a dance group about their journey in USA while learning and competing in music. I'd leave this Taiwan hip hop for another post!

What really caught my attention was those non-protagonist acts in them show. I came across Tommy The Clown from the group Hip Hop Clowns. Tommy is unlike any evil clowns that would eat your brains out from those 90's movies that used to scare my nights out..(kidding!). Tommy showed me them dance that I've never bothered to say "What's up" and the word "Krump"

That's right Krump is not synonymous as the famous low tempo dirty south hip hop sub-genre. They might be related though. Urban Dictionary says that Krumping is intended as an outlet for anger and as a nonviolent alternative to the street violence widespread in many of the areas where it is performed.

I'm lifted with the style these dancers portray for real. This is energetic and off the hooks. Ask Tommy yourself, he's been pioneering this since 1992. Word, I'm only getting the knowledge about this in 2010- No that's is an educational rift, I reckon.

All ya'all gotta do now is, de-tour yourselves to this youtube trailer. This is called Rize, Im Out!!

P/S holler me if ya'all dance like this, Imma' hit some production in them studio and get rowdy with ya'al on them streets!

Kota Tinggi Troops tops Bangkit independent online music poll

Kota Tinggi Troops(KTT), who has not heard about them boys? I guess much would under rate them boys as they one of the freshest to come out hardcore with Bahasa Melayu (the national language of Malaysia). On 31st of June, KTT proved they are indeed being heard as they topped the Bangkit charts with their singles 'Warisan Perjuangan' by a timid gap of 0.36% vote from all other songs. My maths got artistic when i tried figuring out how does the ballot counting process took place. Indeed the prior statement from the website insisted that the top songs voted would then undergo a selection process from various Malaysian big personalities before it is finally compiled in the CD.

KTT and I has been inviting you via e-mails and Facebook to vote for the song prior to this and we would like to personally thank ya'all for the support. Them boys has been working hard in both promoting and bringing lyricism into new heights!

Bangkit is an independent movement of youth activism trying to make a difference through various means. One of them currently recognized is music and this is handsomely portrayed. KTT on the other end need our help to undergo a "new" set of voting process before the songs are judged for further arrangement and recording. I'm not complaining by any means- but I'm hoping this would come out smooth as I produced this song for them. The lyrics of the song would somewhat rebut Malaysian political fronts thought and ideas about the younger generation being weak. They should listen to more hip hop prior to giving national speeches.

Straight from the undergrounds of Japan

It has been 2 months since I had the time to sit in front of my computer and blog, but yet I'm all certain none missed anything about it. Anyways, I've been all good in case you all did not wanna know :p. Enough of them spotlight yearning gimmicks, recently I was browsing online for some fly custom Nike Air Force Ones, and I came about at this custom design from Japan. I'd leave about shoes for another day, what caught my eye was this group from Japan who are sponsored by Nike for real in them Far East.I decided to youtube them, and I came across loads of surprises for real.

Women and hustlers I would love to present Nitro Microphone Underground in case ya'all did not know. I'd be honest that I do not understand Japanese language, but that's the sole minus vibe for me not to keep listening. I have always been a fan of them Japanese producers although we lost Nujabes recently to greater heights, RIP player. Food for mind for now and the next few weeks, I got loads of academical polishing to do from this. For now, listen---

Cape Town's Freshest

What's been happenin world? We recently surpassed mother's day, nurses day, and such. I've been busy trying to make ends meet hence its been hard to update my blog. But I'm finally doin it today. My belated wishes to those nurses and mum's- appreciate it coz ya'all make the world a better place. Talking about the world, my hommie Cue Dubz recently hooked me up with a pretty chilled track from his hometown in South Africa. It's NIA and this spliff is called For Da People. Produced by Supreme 1, Kapi-Ton begins the day time mutiny on them track only to be later on autopsied by Cue Dubz at the end of the track. I love the dub feel on this track. This gives me thousands of reasons to get to South Africa one day to get involved with them scene one day from now. Meanwhile, I'd be completing my joints with Cue Dubz down in Bandung!!! I'd be waiting for more dope thangs from this boys and the rest of them African cats since I got loads of listening materials from DJ Gordz recently, would be uppiN later since I'm savin em' now!

Ya'll should enjoy the track, hear 4 emcees rep Cape Town and their community. Lyrically this is some'in tight to relate.

When figures does not matter!

Waddup camaraderie,
I gotta totally disagree when ya'all say UK hip hop comes below the American rap scene.. I got solid reasons for that ever since I've been bumping to grime, gritty and glitch hip hop tracks. Well many of ya'all would have a different opinion on this since somewhat grime would be synonymously mistaken for crunk. It vibrates differently on ear drums- :)

Despite those thick accents, heavy basses, unorganized drums and off your average rap grid lyrics, I came across this cat called Devlin. When i googled more about this emcee's whereabouts, I discovered that he is indeed heavily linked with US rapper Eminem. Nope not D12, Shady Records and Dre's camp, but some lyrical conflicts and collaborations. Those two statements would be heaven's and earth distance since I failed to obtain much feed about this. There is a recorded freestyle involving both emcees, but am yet to validate its presence. Whatever it is, both emcees are multi-syllabic and uses creative wordplays on short stanza.

I'm tipping Devlin to plunge out of the scene globally surpassing your hip hop norms since UK is delivering a 'salvation' to those in sense of rap ailment. Devlin would define himself as a "Giant" on Youtube. Move with the words and the 8-mile like video since this is definitely UK's finest grime artist...

Outstanding lines from here would be

'Krave' for more GTA via Rap!

Whats good world! Those in Malaysia who already got my Fresh Tapes mixtape recently would reckon that i shortlisted loads of dope acts from around the globe. Far in Europe-Netherlands, I came across this emcee called MC Kravens now known as Dr.Kravens. I'd skip about the track we made together for another post. I recently came across his post on his Facebook about GTA... Yes right, I's talking about Grand Theft Auto, your ghetto getaway. This emcee actually made an unofficial video of the game out of his console and arranged a pretty cool video out of it. Wonder why does this have around 140,000 plays?

This track brings me back to the days of Tupac Shakur banging on Dre's beats. This is merely off Kraven's usual style apart from the rhyming method. This proves his versatility. Nuff said.. Listen, share and respect!!

If ya'all try taking an extra effort browsing Kraven's videos, you would smile to a Coke. I'm promoting and representing!! More Videos and more efforts from this lad!

P/S: Im not encouraging ya'all to practice GTA in real life. Don't go blaming my blog if ya'all hit them cops or somethin ait!! but yet..............

Yaeno still smooth swagging on THR Raaga charts

My man Mobfigga from BL.Inc just hit up with dem good news about Yaeno still kicking it hardcore on them THR Raaga charts. This track is Tamil language and you could check their position here.

I've known Mobfigga and his characteristic hoarse tonsil ripping on tracks through his works with BL Inc. But up to my surprise, Mob came mellow and relaxed on this track summing up to the feel of the track!!!

This track was literally distributed on facebook by my man and White Noize Production Studio months ago, and I had my hear on this creative production. I love the way they manifested the auto-tune pluggin on this song. This is beautifully arranged and mixed

8 bit music, what is it about?

Afternoon world!

Well it doesn't matter if I just woke up, coz I only have till this Sunday till I start work again. Anyways Yesterday I was chilling, at Roger's Lounge, Bandung. Watched my boys Cronik and Purna Undead spin Drum N Bass plus Dub Steps all night long. Prior to leaving, I spoke up with my mate who is currently representing Bandung in the 8 bit music scene. What is an 8-bit music??

I remember those days when I was 4 or 5 years old, when my dad presented me my 1st set of microgenius game console. I had tons of cartridges and loads of games to bump to. All we had on our joysticks were four buttons at the right to navigate our moves and another four sorted alphabetically on the left for the fancy stuff. I couldn't complain back then since I enjoyed Contra, Street Fighter and Super Mario on the 2D platform.Years later, in this era where games are available on mobiles, PSPs and such I yet again came across with microgenius. This time around it was the music part of it being made into modern day ear candy. trust me, i was stunned the 1st time I heard this, but soon I was all good.

According to wikipedia, 8-bit refers to a style of electronic music inspired (and performed) by the sound of old computer consoles from the 8 bit era of video games. This also cross breeds with chiptune or chip music where you can expand your reading here.

This group I know in Bandung, is called Robochip and I've seen them performing life with Nintendos and mixers during hip hop gigs and such. Fadli who is one of the personnel from this outfit shared with me a free goodie from his crates and I guess it's time ya'all had your ears do the screening as well.

Download this 8-bit and Drum N Bass mash up - My Stuck (my first and try dnb)
Get connected to Robochip via http://myspace.com/robochip

I was partying to DnB last night, but this tune somewhat got me thinking...

Could I succumb a rap on 8bit??? I'd just have to figure it out myself soon!!

Potentialz- Verbal Guillotine

Whats happening fam,

I was shuffling my winamp playlist when I came across this old-school Malaysian rap track, guess I better write about it before i loose my ideas!

Years ago, when www.bazement.net forum was still up, I was part of the community. This was indeed the place where new artistes dropped their demos and singles. These were uncut, dirty and RAW. despite all the critics and such this place was good in terms of the presence of the scene on the internet and a spot for sharing ideas. skills, productions and such.

I came across this emcee from the far north side of Malaysia(Penang) called Potentialz. Most of ya'all who bump to THR Raaga would smile about since he is familiar with Psychomantra's track on the radios called, Sirayin Vaalkai boldy translated from Tamil to English to yield 'Jail Life'. What brings me to dig my crates and post this is of course the track Verbal Guillotine. With Nas's vox sample from Automatic Combat Pistol and a Japanese feel on the beat, the emcee nailed the best wordplay to a relaxed flow. Of course there wasn't any choruses to follow since it depicts the emcee's style.

This track was underrated years back ad still is, but personally, it is one of my favorites when it comes to lyricism in Malaysia.

This captivated me for real -
im so ill i suck the cancer out of Richard Boeken/
i'll leave your close casket wide open/

I've attached the lyrics in this post together with Potentialz's Myspace and the song link. Listen to it and get connected to this player.

Ladies and gentlemen this is Potentialz, RAW

Verse 1.

watch my pen bless this verse with murder ink/
i'll blind you in a blink of an eye so that
you'll never flinch/
bleach my features and take the spot under lime-
light/
and stack corned-beef in-between D12 and Royce
the 5'9/
your plight is my pleasure/
poetic fractions of undiscovered paragraphs are
my treasure/
i blast in both ways like double speakers when
i spit this shit/
I break your fist with brick hard enough to
split your wrist/
its the blissfull black kid wrappin emcees up
in plastic/
you know how drastic I get in flesh kid/
Im tighther than those books that you kept
under your armpit/
Im lyrically armed with despiteful vicious
tongue/

Verse 2.

I disclose the bomb on my palm with Saddam/
in less than few yards i planned to drop unless
you call it enough/
malicious mind deeper than coal mine/
I'll pass you the hook like candyman when you
call my name 3 times/
but till then let me expand my verses with
extended rehearses/
the blood thirst vampire curses/
i keep the motion disturbed in this minus one
with add verbs/
like apples emcees tries to bite me you f***ing
assholes/
my written sh*** and spoken will leave your
eardrums broken/
im so ill i suck the cancer out of Richard
Boeken/
i'll leave your close casket wide open/
and take a piss at the host approach the God
then Im ghost/
it goes on like porn flicks till i cum on the
set/
rhymes on the track at the same time pay
respect to the blacks/
now catch me wreck this microphone in half/
my flows surpass your glass now quit being an
ass/

Finally I'd love to hear this emcee drop a solo project and by all means I'm speaking as a fan! I'm beginning to loose this kind of feel now days, my bad!

I previously wrote about Glee which made me to think that I recently adopted the Disqus comments system to opt my Google blog comment system. What is Disqus, well in simple words, this is an application u can apply to your blog templates across blogger, Wordpress and Joomla to make it much more savvy for cross posting.. still not convinced?...

Imagine having a reader come across your post but he/she does not have those blog accounts to log in and post a comment apart from being anonymous and posting with an open ID. Disqus has brought apart a system which integrates Facebook, Yahoo, Twitter, Open Id and of course Disqus itself for your comments. A person who's current;y on Facebook for instance would be able to post comments using their Facebook ID. It's that simple, but wait, the best part comes next, when they have the option to share their posts on their walls.... pretty helpful I reckon.

I previously was not convinced since it deleted my Google comments but then, u could save and import your comments in their import comment options. It would somewhat que your prior comments but this would not take all day long. And you can moderate the comments on Disqus itself! So it's time get your browsers and start applying it, they have simple steps and helpful tutorials in case ya'all get lost! And please feel free to comment on my posts with this new gadget. It's street yo!

I'd somewhat be writing loads of tech stuffs related to blogging in a moderate way since I'm not a pro, If any of ya'all need help - please feel free to ask, I'd try rectifying it upon my current knowledge

The Glee way to market music

What's Glee world? I was sitting at home last night switching through the cable TV whilst waiting for Pulse 2 to play on CineMax when i came across Glee. I mean, I've came across it's annoying advert a thousand time, claiming it has millions of downloads for its ringtones in Asia.

I put my judgment on Glee aside yesterday and watched the series, up to my surprise, this college/teen drama was filled with music and choreography. Brought me back to those Evita and Nightmare Before Christmas like scene's that i loved watching back then. Something that I sat through and pondered...

Just like High School Musical and such, Glee seems to be the new sex to triumph amongst serial lovers and of course music listeners, Music wise-its clean mixes with strong vocals by the singers, while the presentations were modern day dances with loads of hip hop moves integrated in it. I'm not being skeptical but believe me, I watched loads of breaks..

I caught half an hour of the show, and I was indeed taken by surprise.

Internationally, I've always been moved from the far east's effort on Afro Samurai an anime, where the scores were harmonized by RZA of Wu-Tang Clan. In Malaysia, I've came across The Rhymeweaver who has taken a different approach by constantly dropping novel like game books, quizzes and magazines and currently working on a comic apart from his rap story telling. I've also heard about loads of cats who are on the move of rising gospel rap up in the churches after sermons although I've not witnessed this with my own eyes, One of them is particularly Radically Saved according to my mate Grandpa Chronic X. Whats' Glee about this? NUTHIN!!!! It's just the approach, movement and effort these creative people make but its not sensed by the masses.

What I'm trying to point out is, an independent artist of caliber could do is.. maybe make a series of any creative idealism you have. Never a harm to try apart from the budget part being a bitch. Let's put our hard headed music style apart sometimes to experiment... Do not get me wrong, this is just a suggestion.

I've already got masses of albums and loads of underground shows to attend to, I'm wishing upon a star to view a choreographed hip hop narration and story telling with creativity. I'd love to watch live, listen, ponder and feast myself with it..

Pondering,

An apple today kept the doctor away

Good morning world, if ya'all happened to read this and ya'all are anywhere around my place, then it should only be by two means. The 1st one would be, you is sitting at home in front of your PC or whatever cyber socializing while the second would be ya'all are accessing this through your feeds/updates/mobile/blackberry and such while partying hard.

The latter brings me to this post...

I was having a ball past evening chilling at Cronik's base-camp(the place we use to kick our recordings done). We had loads to catch-up since I've been relatively busy recently when I only get to see this guys as performing counterparts on shows. So we chatted and chatted and chatted (looping!). And we hit YOUTUBE....

The interface we were using was practically Apple i-Mac and since i was enthusiastic on sharing some independent hip hop with these cats, I piloted the computer and I was INDEED having a HARD TIME with the TOUCH PAD, CURSORS, WINDOWS, SCROLLING and such... I mean u have touch pads with singular click panel-no lefts and rights(seemed like telephones with no handles), and a charger which would jump from your hand to the PC when it's approximately 4 centimeters away. I know I'm hyperbolic, my bad..

So yeah, this wasn't my first date with an i-Mac, years ago i was bumping on a apple program called Garage Band, and it earns you to be a producer with clicks away. You'd have loops of all kinds which are ready for your creative arrangement. I loved it, but i hated it at the same time coz I could basically use this only via my pals laptop.. I do not have a Mac, yet..my bad

I even found out the universal truth that Mac based interfaces project better sound quality at the constant bit-rate when compared to Windows(leaving out the sound-card variable here). I started downloading '.aiff' files to be converted to '.wav' though knowing im splicing the bit-rate... my bad but hey..im much more of a sample based producer

All these events had made me ponder today that, despite of me trying to get down with loads of 'techy' stuffs related to my music, I'm a noob when it comes to APPLE. I have my thumbs up for u guys who wud murder music production via composing, playing live and recording with a Mac. DJ E-One, you is dope!!!

Well done u kept the doctor at bay!!!

Windowing while feeling secured coz I ain't got a CMD key anywhere near my Ctrl or Alt button

Feeling This

Its gonna be afternoon soon and I'm heading for lunch but I've already got food for my head via this post. Previously I spoke about Drum N Bass but I'm going to shift it back to hip hop right now. Ive been a big fan of Nujabes, Nomak, and Ayur. These cats rip brilliant tunes on easy-listening to hardcore beats. What do they have in common apart from being in the far east? - They have what it takes to arrange a proper symphony.

As a beat-maker I'm always on the urge to find new sounds for my composition and recently i came across this post by Movemint here. I landed a listening ear, and I had my Wernicke's area on a run with rhymes.

This is ILL! coz it has Illa J and Madlib's touch to it but this has been Motion's best track that I'm digging so far. And he's a Malaysian local artist- applauds. I instantaneously recognized the reverse effects of the song and the high keyed piano's from Fruity loops(FL Studio). I would wanna to see this guy hooking up emcees with his beats and watch them murder it daylight..Nuff said

watch the video and rate it of coz

Drum N Bass Anyone?

Morning world,

Particularly each morning before i get to work, its almost a must for me to fiddle with the net and read some news. What's a must? i NEED MUSIC vibrating my ear drums for real. I usually start my day with some instrumentals since it would somewhat gets me more active. Drum n Bass has never been any part of my morning routine. I mean, I would not wanna shift my tempo to something really fast and hard to follow. Perhaps them morning blues...

Still wondering what's DnB? Cited from Wikipedia, Drum and bass is a type of electronic dance music which emerged in the mid 1990s. The genre is characterized by fast breakbeats (typically between 160–190 bpm, occasional variation is noted in older compositions), with heavy bass, sub-bass lines, and occasional infra-bass lines. Drum and bass began as an offshoot of the United Kingdom rave scene of the very early 1990s. Read more here

Recently, i partied hard a local club called Innocence in Ciwalk, Bandung. I seldom get into drum n bass parties coz I have always made it a point that this should be my escapade from my music since its a contra to what I work with. DJ Scratchy proved me wrong the other night when he introduced me to various sounds of DNB that has emerged in the Indonesian drum n bass parties. Two years back i was listening drum n bass which were relatively electronic-ish.. today I'm listening pop and traditional song being repelled in... My point is, i got lifted by the music.. I was HIGH!

What brings me to this post is Rusko.Honestly i just got to know his music and I'm being and addict. The atmosphere was wicked when i heard "Cockney Thug" and it has broken my morning routine... I'm playing it purposely loud wake people up! Listen it here and perhaps BUY em! This song has the dub feel with thick British accent. After all his an English lad.

Now I'm bumping to loads of DnB artists such as Skream, Benja, Pendulum n such. The Rebel Scum has been surprising me with their DnB mixes in their underground hip hop mixtapes. The only one i know in Malaysia

Id love to hear more of this kind of music from Malaysian artists from now. Perhaps I would wanna work on DnB mixes for my next project??

Free Download: Music From the Depths of My Heart

I updated about this FREE MIXTAPE couple of days ago via my Facebook, but i guess I'd make use of my blogspot as well.

Who is Rhymeweaver? Why a FREE MIXTAPE? Beat it to this and ya'll would find out this is the 4th installation of the homeboys mixtape series. and yeah, its all free. If you has not recognized this young cat yet- I think it's time ya'all should. This guy is a Malaysian emcee currently doing his internship in New Zealand? (You serious mate?- well ask him yourself will ya!)

I was lucky enough to be part of the emcee's demo mixtape called Hymns of Wrath and Passion and ya'all could watch the video called "Paradise Lost" on youtube. That's right, no link for ya'all. Google us!

For now, jump to his blog, download the mixtape, spread it and such and drop him a message since the boy is in a lovey dovey mood. Mencari Cinta and Never Alone : Tetap di Sisi has been feasting my ears and its hard to get it off my playlist.

Meanwhile i can't wait to jump on another joint with the cat, spread Tha Love people,
